Madeline Phillips
Dual Special Education K-12 & Elementary Education K-6 major
Hometown: Camdenton, Missouri
Madeline proudly serves as the President of Southern Ambassadors while also being involved in Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, and works as an Athletics Media Relations student worker for Lion Athletics. She enjoys hiking, time on the water, and drinking coffee. Her advice to future Lions is to “Get involved in everything you can. It will make your experience so much fun!”

Adeline Siebenthal
Political Science and International & Political Affairs double major with a History minor
Hometown: Joplin, Missouri
Adeline is a member of Southern Ambassadors and Lion Ambassadors. She has studied abroad in five different countries and has interned at the Department of State twice. She enjoys running her spare time and has two pet bunnies named Bon and Mellie. Adeline’s favorite thing about being a Lion is the small class sizes and how supportive faculty members are.

Dayana Hernandez
Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Certificate
Hometown: Webb City, Missouri
Dayana is involved in Spanish Club, Real-About-Well-Being Club, Student Missouri State Teachers Association, and People of Color Club alongside her duties as a Southern Ambassador. She is bilingual, enjoys running and hiking, and loves working with students and volunteering. Dayana loves having the opportunity to meet new people every week.

Matthew McCaulley
Criminal Justice Administration with a Minor in Law Enforcement
Hometown: Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri
Matthew is proud to be a part of Southern Ambassadors, Project Stay, a First-Year Experience course assistant, and a Rec Center student worker. He enjoys climbing, scuba diving, hiking, gaming, and shooting sports. His goal is to become a game warden or park ranger. He is currently training for a marathon and spartan race. Matthew’s favorite thing about being a Lion is the sense of community on campus.

Madelyn Enlow
History with a Public History Certificate
Hometown: Neosho, Missouri
Madelyn is a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Model United Nations, and Southern Ambassadors. She loves to hike, run, travel, visit museums, paint, and try new foods. She is an avid reader of historical novels and loves documentaries and old movies. Her favorite part about being an MSSU Lion is the small community and the success that you are set up for at MSSU.

Jahmal Herbert
Human Resources and Business Management
Hometown: Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Jahmal is a student worker in the Rec Center, a member of the SHRM Club, and a Southern Ambassador. He enjoys exercising, movies, and traveling. His favorite thing about being an MSSU Lion is interacting with new people and he encourages everyone to strive for excellence!

Brenna Moya
Biology Pre-Med with a minor in Spanish
Hometown: Fredonia, Kansas
Brenna is a part of the Honors Program, Baptist Student Union, HSO, Citellus Research Club, and Southern Ambassadors. She enjoys reading and cooking/baking. She loves to travel and has traveled to China and Nepal and even rode an elephant through a rain forest while in Nepal! Her advice to future Lions is “Go out and participate in activities/events. You never know who you could meet!”

Katelyn Patrick
Biology Pre-Med in the Yours to Lose Program
Hometown: Branson, Missouri
Katelyn is part of Women in Science Club, Caduceus Club, Koinonia, and Southern Ambassadors. She loves to bake, hike, and play pickleball. Her favorite thing about being a Lion is being part of the amazing and caring community. Her advice to future Lions is “Don’t be afraid to get involved because when you do it feels like home.”

Ashley Calvin
Nursing
Hometown: LaRussell, Missouri
Ashley is involved in Project Stay, Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, and Southern Ambassadors. She enjoys reading and seeing her friends and family. She recently traveled to Arizona. She loves to participate in any sports or physical activity. Her advice to future Lions is “Try your hardest, put in the work, and have fun!”

Caleb Hatfield
High School Social Studies Education, Middle School Social Studies Education, Political Science
Hometown: Granby, Missouri
Caleb is part of both Southern Ambassadors and Project Stay. He enjoys reading, going to coffee shops, ad hiking. He also professionally refurbishes furniture. His favorite thing about being an MSSU Lion is the relation to the community and community organizations like Building Bridges and the Alliance of Southwest Missouri. His advice to future Lions is, “Don’t be afraid to take chances, ask questions, and ask for help.”

Mel Garrick
Nursing
Hometown: Benin City, Nigeria
Mel is part of Campus Activities Board, Koinonia, Women in Science, Lion Co-Op Volunteers, International Club, Lion Ambassadors, and Southern Ambassadors. She enjoys, dancing, singing, and cooking in her spare time. She loves to travel to new places and meet new people. Her favorite thing about being a Lion is the access to beneficial resources and her fellow Lions because they are easy going and very nice.

Julianna Washka
International and Political Affairs
Hometown: Lantana, Texas
Julianna is in the Honors Program, a member of the women’s golf team, and Southern Ambassadors. She enjoys volunteering and travelling and wants to pursue a career in law. Her favorite thing about Missouri Southern is being a part of such a welcoming community. Her advice to future Lions is “to always make the best of any opportunity given to you.”
